How Jacquard Pattern Scale Changes the Quote (and What to Ask Your Supplier)
When you source jacquard, the color is what you notice first and the last thing that moves the number. What actually changes the quote is the size of the motif — the repeat the loom has to build.
A small dobby or dot repeats on a fast, simple setup, so it lands near the low end of the range. A large all-over floral has to be woven on a Jacquard loom with a much bigger repeat, which is why the same fiber and the same weight can sit at opposite ends of the price ladder. The swatch photo never tells you which one you are looking at.

Four questions to ask your supplier before you quote a run
1. What is the motif repeat size in inches? If the repeat runs past half the width, every seam has to be matched — a cost the sample stage hides.
2. Dobby or jacquard loom? The answer tells you more about landed cost than the color card ever will.
3. What is the minimum per color? Our retail minimum is one yard, and sampling to North America runs about nine working days, so you can test a panel before the bolt.
4. Can I see the reverse? A true woven jacquard mirrors the motif on the back; a surface print goes flat.
